Getting it done….. Deputy Minister of Environment, Tourism and Hospitality Honourable Barbara Rwodzi meeting and greeting industry experts at the WTM Zim stand in London today

As part of ongoing efforts to boost the local tourism industry, a Zimbabwean delegation led by the Deputy Minister of Environment, Tourism and Hospitality Honourable Barbara Rwodzi is currently attending the World Tourism Market in London.

The delegation also comprises officials from the Zimbabwe Tourism Authority (ZTA) together with ten industry players with hopes that this expedition will be of value to Zimbabwe’s tourism industry aspirations.

“The goal is that we once again entice the European market to visit Zimbabwe after the catastrophic effects of the COVID 19 pandemic,” said the ZTA.

The World Travel Market (WTM) is a leading global three day business to business (B2B) travel show and the ZTA Chief Executive Ms Winnie Muchanyuka says the delegation is excited to be engaging with the world in an effort to position  Zimbabwe as a MUST visit Destination particularly at a time the world is opening up with travel restrictions being lifted.

“We are are happy to engage with a source market that we have not been able to engage over the past two or three years due to COVID-19 related travel restrictions.

This is also a good opportunity to engage and reengage as well as reignite with friends that have supported us for years at the same time building new relations towards itineraries that will help improve tourist arrivals in Zimbabwe,” Munyuki said.

The ZTA has continuously embarked on various local and internationally pronged efforts and campaigns to boost the local tourism industry.
